Forget 'Likes,' New Facebook Reaction Buttons Let You 'Love' And 'HaHa!'
Facebook gets a ‘facelift’! After months of rumors that changes were on the horizon, Facebook announced today that reaction buttons are now available worldwide. That means besides ‘liking’ a post, users can also click ‘love,’ ‘haha,’ ‘sad’ and ‘angry’ for a post.
All Facebook users have to do is make sure their app is up to date before gently touching the ‘like’ button and all the options pop up. Once you select the one you want, you’re good to go! The reaction buttons are a welcome change, since users have been lobbying the company for more feature buttons for years. To ensure best overall performance, Facebook spent over a year looking into how people use short comments, emojis and other small quick indicators of emotion outside of the ‘like’ button to get a feeling of what users would want out of "Reactions."
"We wanted to be pretty certain that what we were going to do was going to be the right set of things for people," says Julie Zhuo, Facebook’s director of product design. "We didn't want to take this change very lightly."
Well, we 'Love' this for sure! So fun.
