Fall is Here! Top Five Things To Look Forward To!
Fall is here, at least in the Northeast corner of the USA, so what is there to look forward to now that summer is over? As a heat lover, I’m surprised to find myself looking forward to wearing jeans and scarves while sipping on warm drinks. With each change of the colors of the leaves comes some great things and activities to look forward to.
Pumpkin flavored treats
One of my favorite beverages in the fall is Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte. Although it’s extremely overpriced, the perfect blend of spices and coffee make it worth it. My dad and I have a tradition of getting our first lattes of the season together.
For as long as I can remember, my family and another family have been going apple picking every fall, without fail. Even after having graduated from college, we’re still carrying on the tradition of spending hours walking the rows of apple trees and taste-testing as we go.
I’m not going to lie, I do not like or care for carving pumpkins. The slimy mess that comes out of the inside and the smell just rub me the wrong way. But you can’t get to those pumpkin seeds without carving, and that’s the only reason why I like carving pumpkins...for roasting pumpkin seeds with salt and pepper.
Playing in Leaves
In my opinion, you’re never too old to play in the leaves. So even if it takes a while to rake up the fallen foliage into a pile, sometimes you just have to pounce and be a little kid again.
As many of you know, I’m a runner. And now that I’m training for the biggest and greatest dream of mine (the NYC Marathon), I’m realizing how much more I enjoy running in the spring and fall weather. When it’s over 80 degrees at 8AM, it’s tough to finish out those long runs.
Do you have any activities that you enjoy especially during the cooler months?
