Dogs Get Into The Mardi Gras Spirit At The Annual Barkus Parade

One of the more popular Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans is the Mystic Krewe of Barkus, featuring costumed dogs and their owners. This year's theme was "Dogzilla -- Barkus Licks the Crescent City," and owners dressed their dogs accordingly and constructed miniature floats to haul the canine royalty around the French Quarter parade route. Some of our favorite themes from the past have included "Jurassic Bark" and "Titanic: Dogs and Children First."
