The journey of a filmmaker begins like any journey does, with one small step. Then walking. David Icely bought his first camera and his passion for photography and storytelling ignited. He learned long ago to point the camera at the pretty stuff and just take the picture. A simple formula he has stayed with his whole life. Since then he has had a short film The Adventures of Tommy T-Bone screen at Animation Block Party 2008, (New York’s largest animation film festival), The Pumpkin Gatherer in San Diego International Children’s Film Festival 2010, and Climblapseat San Francisco International Children’s Film Festival 2011 and has enjoyed going to Comic-con San Diego the past four years. He graduated in December 2010 from the University of Arizona with a degree in Media Arts. He is an avid time-lapse and landscape photographer and can be spotted around sunrise or sunset time-lapsin’ it up. He started the production company Hyperfocal Digital LLC www.hyperfocaldigital.com in 2012 to focus his filmmaking into a business entity.
