Collin Clarke Is A Bodybuilder, Has Down Syndrome, And Will Totally Inspire You
Over the last three years, Collin Clarke has undergone a total transformation. It all started when Collin decided that he wanted to pursue bodybuilding, after attending an Indiana Muscle show and getting totally inspired. No one could have expected the incredible journey that would result from that decision.
At the time when he went to the Indiana Muscle show, Collin was overweight. He had 37% body fat, and was at risk for developing diabetes.
Collin also has Down Syndrome.
None of those facts slowed down the bodybuilder-in-training, however. Collin knew that if he could pursue this dream, as someone with Down Syndrome, he could inspire those around him.
"This is how I was born," says Collin. "I don't let it define me. I let it motivate me to work that much harder and show everyone that I can do anything."
Collin worked with his mom to overhaul his diet and started working at the gym with a physical trainer. Six months later, Collin had dropped 64 pounds and his body fat was down to 7%! He decided to enter his first competition: Kentucky Muscle Bodybuilding Championship in Louisville. And the rest is history: Collin became a sensation online, and the fanbase following his journey grew to the point that he launched a non-profit organization called Collination as a way to connect and give back. He also has a Facebook and Instagram presence where followers can keep up with him.
"I don't do this for me at all," Collin shares. "I put in the work and train, but I like to give back... For the kids. I do it for them so they can help make their dreams come true."
