National Love A Tree Day: Children's Book Can Be Planted To Grow A Tree
It is no secret that paper comes from trees. While reading is important, many trees are used to make the books we enjoy. Millions of trees each year are cut down just to make books. What if some of those books could be recycled directly into the ground, replacing a tree that was cut down?
Well, a publisher in Argentina had that same idea. They created a book made with acid-free paper, eco-friendly ink, and jacaranda seeds stitched into the cover. "Tree Book Tree" was made for kids ages 8-12 and is meant to show that “trees and children can grow together.” Children get their lesson of reading and recycling all in one!
This book can be planted into the ground to grow a tree. After the child is done with the book they can get fulfillment and joy from planting it and watch it sprout; creating life, creating a tree. What an amazing concept. A tree was taken to make a book, now the book is giving a tree it's life back.
