Cheerleader Asks Special Needs Friend To Prom In Remarkable Way
Every teenager has dreamed of the moment they get asked to prom. Some hope their “promposals” are as magical as in the movies, but for 18-year-old, Jonathan Ramilo, his was even better. His friend and Park Vista High School cheerleader, Mikal Bartosik, surprised Ramilo with a big cookie cake that read, “Will you go to prom with me?” Ramilo was overjoyed, yelling “yea!” and jumping around the classroom for joy.
Bartosik first met Ramilo when she became friends with Eric, another special needs student, two years ago and started going to his table at lunch. She grew close with Eric and all his friends, including Ramilo. When Bartosik, who has been to two proms already, learned that Ramilo had never been to one before she knew she had to take him. After gaining approval from Ramilo’s mother and teacher, she officially asked him and went with a 'promposal' so the whole class would be included.
Bartosik already has her dress picked out for the April 9 event and plans to rent a limo for the night. She's also making sure her date has the best time possible.
"My friends all love Jonathan and want him in their limo, but since I'm making the night all about him, I decided to get our own," Bartosik said. What an amazing friend!
