Brooklyn Nets Dancer Has Incredible Skills Despite Severe Hearing Loss
The Brooklyn Nets Kids, a dance team comprised of 15 young dancers that perform at Brooklyn Nets games, holds try outs every year. More than 500 kids aged 9-14 compete for a spot on the famous dance team.; but only 15 make the cut. Among those 15 is Vako Gvelesiani, who is heading into his second year with the team. He is incredibly talented. But what is even more amazing is that he performs so well despite not being able to hear the music. When he was 2 years old he lost most of his hearing. You'd think one would need to hear the music to follow the dance steps. But not Vako. "When I listen to music, I only hear the beat, I can't hear the lyrics," Vako said. "But like to me, I think, you're not supposed to hear the music you're supposed to feel the music."
