Boy With Cerebral Palsy Finishes Triathlon Without His Walker
Wow... Talk about inspiration. Bailey Matthews is it for us. The 8-year-old was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 18-months-old. That has not stopped the young athlete from living his dreams.
Bailey completed a triathlon in England last weekend. The Castle Howard Triathlon children’s race included a 100-meter swim, 4,000-meter bike ride and 1,300-meter run. Bailey completed it with his dad by his side... but not his walking aid! He ditched his walking aid to cross the finish line by walking on his own. It's such an incredible sight to see.
“We have always tried to make sure that if there is something he wants to do,” his mother told the Yorkshire Post, “There is no such word as ‘can’t’.”
Hundreds of people were standing by the races, cheering him on. You can see the determination and joy in his face. It's impossible not to be inspired watching this incredible young boy.
