Boy Raises $31,000 In Birthday Money To Be Donated To Nepal Relief
Neev Saraf is an 8-year-old from Laurel, Maryland who heard about the tragedy in Nepal and wanted to help.
Saraf usually makes a donation to a charity every year in honor of his birthday, but this year the tragedy in Nepal struck a chord with him and he decided to do something big.
Saraf's parents are orginally from Nepal, so the news of the earthquake was very hard on the family. Saraf donated $384 that he had saved toward relief efforts and asked for more help over a Crowdrise fundrasing page. So far the total amount raised by the page is over $31,000.
Even though about $356.7 million is needed for Nepal relief efforts, Saraf is hoping that the money he raised will help make a dent in the total and help a lot of people.
