Becoming a Mermaid is No Longer Just a Dream
This is a tale (tail?) of a girl who grew up to be a mermaid. Marielle Chartier Henault founded Aquasirene, Canada's first Mermaid School in early February 2015.
Born with an imaginary fin, Marielle happily spent much of her childhood in the water. She was always infatuated with the idea of being a mermaid, just like many other young girls. After taking part in an underwater photo shoot with a mermaid tail, she was inspired to educate others on exercise and fitness in a unique way: mermaid classes.
Marielle turned her passion for underwater play into a variety of instructional classes promoting fitness while allowing you to become a real-life Mermaid. Monofin swimming involves many core muscles people do not use during regular swimming; this unique exercise allows people to engage those muscles in the core. Monofin mermaid swimming also takes place deeper in the water than regular swimming which teaches students better breath control and, in turn, strengthens their lungs and cardiovascular health.
Learning to swim has never been so fun!
