Beauty Blogger Bares Scars Without Makeup To Promote Self-Love
Makeups tutorials have been the rage all over YouTube. None are like this very special one, though. Beauty vlogger, Shalom Nchom, also known as Shalom Blac, launched “The Power of Makeup” video, in which she only puts makeup on one side of her face and leaves the other exposed. Nchom was scarred at 9-years-old in an accident with hot oil. The burning left her scarred on her hands, shoulders and face and cost her most of her hair. While in middle school, Nchom wore makeup, really caked on foundation, often, but found that it didn’t make her happy.
“You should be able to love yourself,” Nchom tells her viewers. “Make up or no make up.”
By shooting her video in such a fantastic way, Nchom hopes that viewers see the differences in her made up profile and natural one, but not to assume one is better than the other. She doesn’t care about negativity; Nchom encourages everyone to be comfortable in their own skin through makeup, self-love or a combination of both.
“I love myself for who I am,” Nchom confidently says to the camera. “Makeup is not the reason why I’m happy. I’m happy because I love myself.” And we’re happy she’s come such a long way and has become an inspiration to ladies everywhere, too!
