Artist Turns Discarded MetroCards Into Art
For anyone who has taken a stroll through any New York City subway knows that it is not uncommon to see countless MetroCard's scattered on the ground. To many, these throwaway tickets are just trash after the balance has hit zero, but artist Nina Boesch sees it as an inspiration.
Boesch, a NY based interaction designer from Germany, has been creating collages from MetroCards for over 10 years. Initially these works of art were just for friends and family but now she is exhibiting all over the country, including an “Eco Arts" installation at the JAM Gallery in Malvern, PA from April 4 to June 1.
