Angelina Jolie Honored by the Queen for Good Works

Dame Jolie? Not quite. Supermom Angelina Jolie was presented with the prestigious insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George. This was awarded to the actress due to her work campaigning against sexual violence as well as her work regarding UK foreign policy. However, she still isn't allowed to be addressed as Dame. This is due to the fact that she is a foreigner, it is rare for a non-British citizen to be awarded this honor.

Angelina spoke of the honor saying, "To receive an honour related to foreign policy means a great deal to me, as it is what I wish to dedicate my working life to. Working on PVSI and with survivors of rape is an honour in itself.

“I know that succeeding in our goals will take a lifetime, and I am dedicated to it for all of mine.”
