A Mother & Her Two Daughters Just Graduated College—Together!
It's graduation season, and we at HooplaHa are overjoyed for everyone who gets to walk across the stages and accept the diplomas awarded at schools across the country. We wanted to give an extra shoutout to three graduates in particular, whose story of determination and motivation has captured our hearts.
Eugenia, Quiana, and Tanisha Lee all recently graduated from Mass Bay Community College, in Massachusetts. The three women embraced and celebrated afterwards, congratulating one another for their hard work. And that hard work started long before the trio enrolled together for their college courses. You see, Eugenia, Quiana, and Tanisha are a family. Eugenia is Quiana and Tanisha's mother. Plus, Quiana and Tanisha have children of their own. It was a dream of all three women to graduate from college, so once they were all able, they decided that they would do it together.
At first, the prospect seemed daunting to the Lee family members.
"It was just so intimidating," Quiana says. "We're in college with a bunch of young people."
Plus, Quiana and Tanisha had more to worry about than the typical 20-year old college student.
"Juggling kids and juggling school and work. I was like oh my God how am I going to do it?" Tanisha recalls.
Eugenia had the best answer to that question: she remembers that her daughters "kept pushing me and pushing me." They'd say to their mom, "You got this."
Congratulations to the Lees for their remarkable accomplishments!
