A Community 'Cash Mob' Shows Love And Support For One Local Store

It doesn't matter if you grew up in a small town or big city; they all have at least one 'mom and pop' small, local store that's been around for what seems like forever. In Levittown, Long Island they are blessed with such a store. 'Center Lane Stationery' is owned by Avi Gandhi. His customers and the community describe him as a good friend, loyal and loving. Avi knows every customer and takes an interest in their life. He knows people's names, events in their life and just really, truly cares about them. Lately, Avi has fallen into some financial trouble; as his wife was battling cancer he couldn't give the store the attention it needs. In fear he may have to close his beloved store, the community came together to help. A group of loyal customers banned together and planned a  'Cash Mob' to show Avi how much he was loved. Over 100 people participated on a Saturday, purchasing every item in Avi's store. The loved store owner couldn't believe what was happening. The true meaning of community and togetherness is shown by the small acts of these amazing neighbors. It is so beautiful to see how people join together to celebrate and show love for one person. At the end of the day Avi says "I love you all. Please have a prayer for me that I can get a good new lease and I can serve you until my last moment. That is what I want." We love you, Avi!

Cash Mob for Avi was produced by Liz Morrison and Katherine Rodriguez for Liz Morrison Media.
