6-Year-Old Trying To Save NASA Gets Phone Call From The Last Man To Walk On The Moon
You'd expect a 6-year-old like Connor Johnson to dream of being an astronaut. What you wouldn't expect is the effort he's made to restore funding for NASA with an online petition. Connor is determined to get the 100,000 signatures needed before the deadline on December 29 in order for the White House to consider his request. On the petition he says, "Science funding is the future of our country."
Although the petition hasn't yet made the 100,000 mark, Connor was rewarded for his passion regardless. Gene Cernan, the last man to set foot on the moon, called Connor personally to encourage the 6-year-old to follow dreams that no one thinks he can do, and to "take us back to the moon."
