6 Police Officers Take Late Colleague's Daughter To Father/Daughter Dance
When Jewel Warren received an invite to the local father/daughter dance she became really sad. Her father, officer Tim Warren was killed in the line of duty 4 years ago. The Memphis, Tennessee officer left behind some incredible colleagues though.
The 8-year-old's mother, Betsy Warren, contacted Taylor Amen, who's the wife of a Memphis police officer, and Donna Kirk, who's a widow of a Memphis firefighter to see if anything could be done. When the local policemen heard about the situation, 6 incredible men stepped up.
They showed up at the Warren house with their dancing shoes on! They were more then happy to accompany the special young girl to her dance.
"We know we cannot replace Tim, but we can be there for his family when we are needed," Officer Amen said in a statement. "It was truly a honor."
Officer Pfeil, added, "It was an honor to be able to attend this event and to help keep Tim's memory alive."
It is beautiful to see what a strong sense of community there is. Not only did 1 officer volunteer, but 6. This situation could have ended up very differently for Jewel. But thanks to these incredible men it is a joyous memory she will have forever.
