5-Year-Old Becomes Ninja Turtle To Undergo Cancer Treatment
Harley Renshaw is a five-year-old cancer patient who has undergone kidney surgery, stem cell therapy, and more, all without lasting results. As part of a clinical trial at England's Royal Manchester Children's Hospital he spends hours in a protective mask that holds him completely still. Harley opted to decorate his suit of armor as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. He calls an operation scar his "pirate scar" and created his own "beads of courage' for long hospital sessions. Harley's courage inspired Cancer Research UK to name him a "Little Star," a title awarded to inspirational young patients. Although we are sure Harley is happy to have been awarded this title we know he would have been equally pleased with being named a little ninja turtle.
