40 Delicious Moments At SoWe Food & Wine Fest 2014

The summer of 2014 ended not with a whimper, but with a bang. A delicious, gluttonous bang. The SoWe Food & Wine Festival made certain of that with its cornucopia of delicacies and libations featuring the best that Southern Westchester, NY has to offer.  In fact the fest did more than just feature the culinary scene in the area, it did nothing less than establish Southern Westchester as one of the most exciting food scenes in all of New England.

Spread across two days in two towns, this year's festival was packed to the gills with restaurants, wineries, pit masters, cheese mongers, breweries, specialty culinary providers, spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities to entice the crowds. The weekend kicked off in high fashion Friday night with an Iron Chef style Celebrity Chef Battle featuring culinary stars Graham Elliot, Rocco DiSpirito, Franklin Becker and Dave DiBari who dueled to a draw. Saturday and Sunday featured tented Grand Tasting Villages in Mamaroneck and Scarsdale respectively where all of the culinary adventures went down. Each tent was lined with tasting tables running the gamut from the healthy to the truly decadent. There was also an entire tent dedicated to wine tastings with no less than 30 wineries offering several of their varietals. Simply making our way from table to table  became a Titanic struggle of restraint...a struggle we all to often lost. With so many things to try one can be excused for over indulging!

Hands down the best part of the festival is that it helps to support some amazing causes including WhyHunger, the Greyston Foundation and the Food Bank of Westchester. Knowing that all of the festival goers and participants were helping these very worthy causes made the whole experience all the better!

We could go on and on, but we'll just let these photos do the talking! Get ready to drool..

A big thanks to the SoWe Food & Wine Fest and all of their sponsors for putting on an outstanding event showcasing some of the best cuisine and causes in Southern Westchester. We can’t wait to see how they'll top themselves next year!
