12-Year-Old Invents “The Scratch”
Back in 1975, a 12-year-old boy named Theodore created both the scratch and needle drop -- almost purely by accident. Alas, a sound that changed the Hip Hop music scene forever. This pioneer would later become known as “GrandWizzard Theodore" and would become rap royalty, collaborating with artists such as Grand Master Flash and Jam Master Jay. We caught up with Theodore at his home in the Bronx as he was in between teaching at the Scratch DJ Academy in Manhattan to hear from the legend himself.
