100 Years Old And STILL Happily Working!
Holly Dickerson, of Des Moines, Iowa, could be one of the most dedicated workers out there. At 100 years old, he manages to go to work every day, Monday through Friday at Valley West Uniforms. It is a uniform shop that Dickerson started in 1981, after he retired as an insurance salesman. While the day to day operations of the store have fallen to Terry Dickerson, Holly’s 67 year old son, the century-old man helps out in the back of the shop, steaming the uniforms before they go out on sale. This duty involves being on his feet for up to five hours a day. Even after multiple heart surgeries and a stroke that has impaired his speech, Holly is showing no signs of stopping.
His son says that his father’s mindset is that “If you retire and sit in a rocking chair all day, you won’t survive.” Well, Dickerson family, by the way Holly is acting, it doesn’t seem like he’s going anywhere anytime soon.
